Student Sculpture Garden

Clinton’s upcoming public art project!

What is the student sculpture garden?

The Student Sculpture Garden will be a display of lighted metal sculptures in Millennium Park in Clinton. These sculptures will be created by students and tradespeople, forging community partnerships. We hope to re-offer the project each year. The sculptures will be a beacon of hope, creativity, and community for all to see.

Industry leaders will meet with students to plan and guide the projects. We will gather sculptures as they are completed, with park installation in planning. We also hope to light the sculptures with interactive lights that can be programmed by the artists. The grand opening of the Student Sculpture Garden will be proposed in 2023.

What is the goal of the project?

Young people will design, create, and install the project with help from industry professionals and trade associations. By receiving mentoring from local welders and metalwork artists during the creation process, students will learn about the trades, network, and explore career options. This project will be a great opportunity for students to shine in their community while creating a lasting landmark.

The sculptures will entice visitors to the heart of our downtown, providing more customers for local businesses while showcasing the talents of tradespeople and students. The project will also facilitate the connection of talented and passionate youth with industry professionals who are seeking new workers. The community as a whole will benefit from this wonderful initiative!
